The kids we serve need someone like you. We have 80 youth waiting for a positive role model.

Mentors support and listen to the kids they mentor. There is no typical mentor, and you need not have a background working with at-risk youth to be an effective mentor. 

The single most important requirement is to have the desire to positively impact a child.

We match each mentor with a mentee using well-established practices that have proven success. Additionally, each mentor receives support services to ensure the development of a successful partnership.

To become a mentor with Partners, we first ask that you attend an Orientation session at our offices. This is a time to hear all about the kids we serve, what we ask of our mentors and what our mentors can expect from our organization. At any time, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

We'll provide all the necessary paperwork for you to fill out at the Orientation, but if you'd like to get a jump start, please review the following information:

Once you fill out our simple application, a Partners staff member will contact you shortly to discuss the next steps.

 

As part of our thorough screening and matching process, you will be asked to:

  • provide references
  • participate in an in-person interview
  • go through a background check
  • allow a case manager to visit your home to ensure safety for your potential mentee
